I am a Visiting Fellow in Anthropology at London School of Economics and Political Science and the recipient of the ESRC Postdoctoral Fellowship. My postdoctoral research project examined the role of informal migrant networks and infrastructures in providing aid to Ukrainian refugees in Moldova. This project showed that informal aid providers are essential in the first weeks of the conflict, and that existent migrants infrastructures mediating transnational charitable actions play a central role in the timeliness of transnational responses to the refugee crisis. My doctoral thesis explored the role of transnational practices like parcel-sending via private parcel van companies in creating and maintaining connectedness across borders.

I am currently involved in HESPRI – an interdisciplinary EU-funded MSCA Staff Exchanges project working on improving higher education policies worldwide in a consortium of 14 partners. I previously co-coordinated the LearnHigh course digitalisation project funded by UNDP and partners.

My background is in anthropology, social work, art, and cultural studies, and my research interests reflect my own migration experience and Eastern-European ancestry. Outside academia, I worked with vulnerable social groups, including refugees and offenders, and got involved in a variety of art projects.
